Tuley’s Takes Today: Saturday recaps, updated Super Bowl odds, my best bets and prop wagers (2/13)

Super Bowl Eve was another exciting day in the Tuley’s Takes home office as we continued to track the side and total and shop around for the best prop prices. We enjoyed 56 hours of programming on VSiN.com, and we are looking forward to the interview with Billy Walters. The rest of our coverage will be on Sunday.

I lost my first bet of the day with the Blue Jackets-Canadiens. I thought I had an easy winner after the Habs scored just one minute into the game, but neither team scored for the rest of the game. That was a disappointment. I had blanked with my horse racing picks on Saturday in my other column.

It was looking worse for Dave Tuley, as the Portland Trail blazers fell behind by 23 points in the third quarter, and my next best bet of the day was at + 4.5 at the Knicks. I didn’t get to see the Blazers rally to cover the spread, but they did win the game, 112-103. When the Hornets fell behind by 35 points, I felt like I was playing with found money and was giving it back to the books. Again, I thought I was doomed, but the Hornets came back to win 125-118.

I was fortunate to pull out a profitable day after all of that. I have to remember this next time I have a bad beat.

We have a daily update of the Super Bowl side and total, as well as the rest of Saturday’s betting action. I posted my Super Bowl best bet on the Bengals + 4.5 in these daily columns as well as in Point Spread Weekly and the VSiN Staff Best Bets file, but we will list them all here again.

Saturday’s recaps.

After being 43-6 SU the previous 7 days, Faves went 7-4 SU on Saturday but dogs led 7-4 ATS. The upsets were by the Knicks, Spurs, Nuggets, and Clippers. Dogs went 7-4 against the spread for their first winning day since a week ago Friday, as the Lakers, Nets, and Heat all lost.

USC beat UCLA 67-64 late Saturday as 4-point home dogs and + 160 on the money line. 2Gonzaga beat No. 2 late Saturday. The consensus line of -16 was pushed by Saint Mary’s. The Longhorns lost to the Bears 80-63 and were covered as 5.5-point home favorites.

In the NHL, the Faves went 5-5 with the upsets by the Maple Leafs, Jets, and Wild. The push in the game had a total of 6 goals.

The odds for the Super Bowl are updated. Wynn is back up to Rams – 4.5 in Las Vegas, but Circa Sports and South Point have joined him. Rams -4 -105 is the lowest line in town. The best Under price of Under 49 + 100 is at Treasure Island.
Sunday’s takes.

The Bengals are 4.5. We recommend grabbing the 4.5 if the line goes down, so I hope everyone on the team grabbed it. Some books have gone back up to 4.5, so hopefully those that missed it can grab it again. If you want to read my thoughts on the Super Bowl props, you can check out my regular column in Point Spread Weekly or the VSiN.com Best Bets file.
