North Carolina vs.

Pick.

Over 25.

The best book.

There is a game called DraftKings.

The network of the conference.

The battle at Chapel Hill is the first play I like. The game opened with UNC as 5.5-point favorites and the total set at 26.5, but has seen a bit of movement on the spread and total. The spread has moved at 4.5 and the total has moved at 25.5 on DraftKings. I think there is a chance that this total will go over the 25.5 mark, because the Spiders have historically played UNC tough.

Chris Gray is a favorite to win the Tewaaraton and is the top player in the nation. He contributed to a UNC offense that averaged 16.31 goals per game, good enough for the NCAA’s highest- scoring offense. I think the Tar Heels will pick up where they left off in 2021.

Ryan Lanchbury is returning to the lineup for the second season in a row, with his career points total second in the history of the club. The second-overall draft pick in the National Lacrosse League Draft is going to be a big deal.

I think these teams will play at a fast pace, which will bode well for a high- scoring game. The first shot on goal for the Spiders last season was an average of 41.85 seconds into each possession. The Tar Heels were very efficient on offense last year, converting 39.3% of possessions into goals.

I expect these offenses to play fast and score a lot of goals.

The University of Massachusetts and the Army.

Pick.

The army is 3.5

It’s on the Disney channel.

I like the idea of Army laying -3.5 at home in the Saturday game against UMass. The spread is juiced at -150, so it’s a tad pricey to buy into the Black Knights covering the 3.5-point spread, but I think this is a good spot for Army to get the cover.

Army had an average margin of victory of five goals through its five wins against unranked opponents last season. The 10th-ranked Army team is seasoned, with 19 seniors on its roster, and the Black Knights rarely plays down to their opponents level.

The strength of the defensive unit has been the main reason for Army’s success.

I expect the West Point defense to keep the offense in check and the Black Knights to cover the 3.5 points. I would bet the army was going to be -5.
